My name is Shane Gormley and I’m an English literature postgraduate from the UK. I studied at the University of Derby and studied abroad for one semester at Keene State College. I now currently live in Keene, New Hampshire with my wife Tayla and my six month old son Renan.
About
I am currently in the process of applying for my green card which means I am not yet able to work in the USA so for the time being I am a stay at home dad (and have new found appreciation for stay at home parents everywhere). When my loveable scamp allows me I try to do some writing here and there. I have long had a passion for the written word and enjoy nothing more than taking the few hours while my son is napping to pen down rambling thoughts, wild poems or the latest segment of the novel I’m working on.
More than anything I am hoping that by starting this webpage I push myself to keep on writing so I’ll try my best to submit new work as often as I can. If you happen to read anything and like it, or have ideas on how I could improve it please let me know. I am even open to collaboration ideas. For example I have thought of combining poetry to pictures/photographs and adding a soundtrack for each piece that would play on a loop to create a more vivid, almost living piece of art. I thought it sounded like a good idea but I lack any know-how when it comes to creating music.
